Gary McCullough was a friend and inspiration. He was my classmate at Rockdale County High School. I was the worst player on the basketball team. Gary was the best.

Gary was always an able listener. I say "able" because he paid close attention to you when you talked to him -- and usually had something to say that was both on point and insightful.

He was one of the best athletes I ever met. Once, when during recess it started raining, everyone was called into the gymnasium. It was packed with 8th graders through 12th graders. Gary took a basketball and started dribbling. It seemed that everyone took a try at taking the ball away from him -- several at a time. Gary dribbled, dribbled, and dribbled. No one succeeded.

It did not surprise me that after retirement, Gary went into public service and was elected Mayor of Dahlonega. Who can forget those Saturday music galas around the courthouse organized by Gary. He drew people from all over the place -- including Rockdale County and a couple of us from Virginia.

We will miss you, Gary McCullough. So will your wonderful wife and extended family. So will your community. You had an important impact on so many lives, Gary McCullough. It has been an honor to call you my friend.

My mother recently passed away, and my family chose Dahlonega Funeral Home because I have been to a couple of visitations/services there and each one has been great. They took great care of my mother, and they helped me and my family get through the day. I felt like they really did care about her and all of us, and they made sure we had everything we needed. Amanada Jones was always there to answer any questions or meet me, and she was very flexible with my needs. The day of my mom's visitation, Debbie Waldroph came and spoke to us multiple times to make sure everything was in top shape for my mom, and she made sure the entire facility was clean throughout the day.
I would definitely choose this facility and the staff again.

Amanda went above and beyond when my dad died. She came to the cleveland office to help and the whole staff made the service personal with antique cars and all.

We are very thank for the services offered to the community by Dahlonega Funeral Home. We have been able to enjoy my daughters baby shower here 5 years ago. They have graciously opened the doors for the foster parents to be able to gather and have our fall festival 2 years now, also starting to have the children's birthday there!! We also are blessed to use the facilities for Girl Scouts!! They have opened there doors for 2 years now for a community thanksgiving meal which has been amazing!! I can not say enough good things about this company!!! Love them

Well where do I even begin!! When my mom passed we was very scared and didn’t know which direction to go didn’t have any insurance on her because she was a cancer patient and after being diagnosed they wouldn’t allow us to get her any! But with that being said I called Amanda and pretty much cried out for help and without her and the staff I don’t know how we would have done it very welcoming and helpful to us! So I would like to take this time as well to say thank you and god bless!!

Dahlonega Funeral Home is the best hands down with their compassion and kindness during hardtimes in Families lives . Amanda is also an important Advocate in this community and the LOVE she shows the families and others during one of the saddest moments of despair in families lives . Amanda does a lot of outreach and touching lives in our community and helping so many people with a kind caring heart and her willingness to help others never goes unnoticed . When we lost my step father, we could not have chosen a more compassionate and caring place to do the services. Even months and the anniversary of his passing, my mom received thinking of you cards and notice of a memorial night for all that had passed that she could attend.

The Dahlonega funeral home makes the most unbearable part of your life bearable the compassion they show for each and every person that comes in there is unbelievable.the grief that we all experience is made manageable by their team especially by Amanda her kind words and compassion make what is the hardest days of our life manageable .
