Tammy Lynn Paul

Tammy Lynn Paul, originally from Marathon, FL passed away peacefully at her home in Dahlonega on January 19, 2022. She was surrounded by her partner of twenty years, Kerry Cooley, her immediate family and her beloved dogs, Rizzoli and Savannah.  Tammy was born on August 15, 1968 to Carl and Janice Paul of Marathon, Fl, and grew up loving the warm water and beautiful islands of the Florida Keys.

Tammy brought joy and love to everyone who knew her.  She always put others first and only saw good in those around her.  Her passion for animals drove her to help found Off The Chain, a non-profit organization dedicated to bettering the lives of dogs in need.  She would have adopted every stray dog she came across if she was able. 

Tammy was an amazing athlete and an All-American softball player at Marathon High School as well as a stand-out volleyball player.  She went on to play softball at Miami-Dade College.  She was also a proud Seminole from Florida State University.

In addition to her partner and her parents, Tammy is survived by her brother Derek Paul (Christine), and nephews Raymond and Christopher of Marathon, FL.  She is also survived by Kerry’s mother Judith Cooley of Dahlonega, GA, sister, Meredith Munday (John) and nephews, Mike and John Sam Munday andniece Jesse Munday of Kernersville, NC, as well as Liam and Peyton Cantrelle and Sydney Summers whom she loved as her own, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held at Dahlonega Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22rd, with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m.  Father John Hamilton from St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church will preside.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Off the Chain (offthechainga.org) in Tammy’s name.
