Michael Bruce Jeffries

Michael joined the Navy at 17 ready to see the world following in the footsteps of his brothers Harry and Linnie, after serving for 9 years he settled in Jacksonville FL. In 1973 he joined the Army National Guard to complete his service and retired with 21 years in total. The Guard gave him some of the best friends he ever had in life and the start of his nursing career.  Nursing led him to medical administration at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jax, bringing his boss Marge Lassiat and her family into our lives, then the adventures began. Marge and Michael along with Carol Burrell all found new opportunities at Northeast Georgia Medical Center moving all three families north to start the next phase of their lives. After retiring from the hospital is hobbies were family, friends and fishing.

In 1970 Michael met Sharon at a Halloween party, he smitten with her legs and her falling for his blue eyes later married in September of 1971 embarking on a series of adventures. Especially one born in 1974 named Ramona, a daddy’s girl for life. Up or down, thin or flush in 51 years they never left each other’s side. My parents were soul mates from the start. Every morning they say “Good Morning, I Love you, Thank God for another day”. His love, strength, loyalty, honor, advice and amazing since of humor will live on through all the lives he touched. 

Michael was met at the gates by his son Michael, parents Linwood & Mae, sister Ramona and brother Linnie, In-laws Jeannine & Harold, precious mother-n-law Madeline. Many family members, close friends and brothers in arms. 

Leaving behind to celebrate his life, Wife Sharon, Daughter Ramona, bonus Daughter Dienna, Brother Harry, Brother/Sister-in-laws David, Thelma, Jerry & Rozanne. Grandson Brandon & Daughter-in-law Carol. Nieces/Nephews Scott, Missy, Lin, Donna, Shelly, Samantha, Denise, Kilianna, Rick, Joel. Also 11 great Nieces & Nephews. Many Cousins, close Friends and all those whose lives he touched. 

Local Services will be March 5, at 11am  located Episcopal Church of the Resurrection 1755 Duncan Bridge Rd., Sautee Nacoochee, GA 30571 Father Scott Kidd officiating.

A Celebration of Life will be held in St. Augustine, FL at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers Michael’s charities were St. Jude, Wounded Warriors, Tunnel to Towers Foundation
