Jimmie Dwight Valentine, age 76, passed away in Dahlonega, Georgia on September 10th, 2020. Jim was born in Cannon, Kentucky to Caleb and Nora Valentine on July 9th, 1944. He was a graduate of Boone County High School in Florence, Kentucky. He went on to work in finance and later construction, as a residential contractor. A lover of sports, Jim enjoyed golf, bowling, and cheering for his favorite team, The Kentucky Wildcats. Jim volunteered many years in Little League baseball and served as acting president. During his downtime, he enjoyed watching westerns. Most important to Jim was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Libby, their daughter Michelle Mercer and her husband John of Gainesville, their son Jim Valentine and his wife Dana of Melbourne, Florida, daughter-in-law Jennifer Fortney of Port St. Lucie, Florida and 11 grandchildren, Jimmy Valentine, RyanMercer, Robby Valentine, Lyndsay Mercer Shope, KayleeValentine, Taylor Mercer, Aliki Valentine , Vanessa Valentine Spear, Georgia Mercer, James Mercer, and Isabella Valentine.Also, survived by his brothers Harold, Don, Jerry, and DennieValentine-- also many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carroll, John, and KennethValentine, sisters Jeree Serdynski and Thelma Brown, and his son Rob Valentine.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, November 1st, 2020 at 1pm at Bull Mountain Lodge, 135 Ridgegate Drive, Dahlonega, Georgia 30533.
