Obituary

Evans Palmour Junior

In loving memory of Evans Palmour Jr., born June 30, 1943, in Temple, Texas and passed away Sunday, January 29th, at North Fulton Hospital. Evans graduated from Gainesville High School in 1961 and attended North Georgia College Military Academy from 1961 to 1965, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1966 and served during the height of the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Petty Officer Second Class. After returning to civilian life in 1970, Evans began his career as a firefighter for Washington, D.C., retiring in 1990 and returning to his hometown of Gainesville, GA. He moved to Dahlonega, GA, in 2002. Evans was a fan of the Washington Redskins and was passionate about playing the ancient Chinese game of "GO." His family and friends will remember him as a dedicated American patriot, firefighter, loving husband, and father. Evans is survived by his wife of 11 years Barbara Palmour of Dahlonega Georgia and stepson Mike Hudlow of Conyers Georgia. A private family service will be held in his honor. He will be cremated, and placement of his ashes will take place at a later date.
