Elizabeth Eugenia (Satterfield) Dowdle

Elizabeth Eugenia Satterfield Dowdle, age 81 of Dahlonega, GA passed away on January 28, 2023 after a brief illness, while surrounded by her loving family. 

Elizabeth was born in Dahlonega, GA on October 18, 1941 to the late Charlie H. and Isabelle Meers Satterfield and lived most of her life in Dahlonega. She was a loving wife, Mama and Granny, who loved her children, grandchildren and family and we all loved her. She loved having family gatherings or anytime we came to visit or eat with her and everyone she met was always welcome as part of the family. She loved telling everyone about Jesus and His love for us all. She loved going fishing, showing all of her children and grandchildren how to fish and going camping. She loved canning food and making quilts to give to family and friends. She was a retired nurse that loved taking care of elderly people. She will be loved, remembered and in our hearts forever. ❤️

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Alfred “Junior” Dowdle, her grandson Chris Conley and great grandson Noah Conley, brothers William Satterfield and Ferrell Satterfield, sisters Velma Satterfield, Alene Warren, Mamie Seitz and Mary Lou Duff. 

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Gail & Michael Lucas, Terry & Wayne Crenshaw, Teresa Dowdle & James Brown, Tammy & Tony Ray, son and daughter-in-law, Gary & Bobbie Dowdle, grandchildren Jennifer & Clark Justus, Charlie & April Adams, Brandy Dowdle Tucker, AJ & Micki Conley, Caleb & Amanda Adams, Scott Dowdle & Georgia Sanders, Sarah & Shaun Chambers, Sunny & Deidre Pham, Chana & Jake Miller, Cateland & Brandon Green, Cara Pham & Brenda Labastida, Brianna & Will Weaver, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, brother Wendell Satterfield, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Joyce Satterfield, sisters Sharla Fae Seabolt and Martha Dowdy and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 PM and Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 11:00 AM-1:30 PM at Dahlonega Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Dahlonega Funeral Home with interment to follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Kris Butler will officiate.
