Douglas Allan Gifford

Douglas Allan Gifford age 57 of Dawsonville passed away on July 11, 2022. Mr. Gifford was a proud Air Force Veteran and was currently employed at John Megal Chevrolet in Dawsonville. He loved his family, his country, and enjoyed tinkering with things around the house and spending time at the gun range. 

Doug excelled in everything he did he received numerous awards from John Megal as well as Air Force , including a Bronze Star Medal With Valor, Air Force Achievement Medal, Outstanding Unit Award with three oak leaf clusters, Combat Readiness Medal with two oak leaf clusters, IR Force Good Conduct Medal with two oak clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Small Arms Expert, and several other awards and ribbons.

Doug is preceded by his father John “Jack” Gifford. He is survived by his wife Elma (Inday) Gifford of Dawsonvillle, Georgia; daughter, Crystal Cantrell; Mother, Arla Gifford; siblings Jeanette Gifford, Wayne Gifford (Leanne), and Danny Gifford; grandson Luke Cantrell; nieces and nephews, Jack Wegener, Bethany Wegener, Angela Freie (Corey), Gina Gifford, John Gifford, Clinton Gifford, Spencer Gifford, and Slater Gifford.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday July 19th, 2022 from 2pm until 9pm and again on Wednesday from 4pm until 6pm.  Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday at 6pm.  Military Honors provided.
