Mr. Donald J. Wagtowicz passed away on October 21, 2022, at home in Dahlonega, Georgia
surrounded by family. He was 74. Born in 1948 in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of
the late Edward and Lily (Seelinger) Wagtowicz. He married Mary Hall in 1970, his beloved
wife, with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage.
Mr. Wagtowicz and his wife, Mary, raised their family in Montgomery, New York. He spent 25
years working for the New York State Department of Corrections. Upon his retirement, they
moved to Spring Hill, Florida, and later to Dahlonega, Georgia.
Mr. Wagtowicz leaves two children: his daughter and son-in law Dawn and Alan Orfi of
Cumming, Georgia; his son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Jennifer Wagtowicz of Attleboro,
Massachusetts. He is survived by seven grandchildren: Sara, Luke, Noah, and Abel Orfi of
Cumming, Georgia, and Alexander, Benjamin, and Matthew Wagtowicz of Attleboro,
Massachusetts. He leaves one sister, Darlene Williams, of Newnan, Georgia, and several nieces
Mr. Wagtowicz was predeceased by five brothers and sisters: Lily Wagtowicz, Edward
Wagtowicz, Myrna Serpico, Robert Wagtowicz, and Linda Sutphin.
