Clarence Abercrombie

Clarence “Bones” Abercromie, passed away July 21, 2023, at the age of 88. Clarence was a Dahlonega native, born June 21, 1935. He lived most of his life in Gainesville and Dahlonega, and spent a brief time living in Chicago. 

Clarence was a man of many hats, from running a local service station to working for Avita as a driver, where he later retired. Not only was he a dedicated employee, he was also a devoted family man. His humble nature was a beacon of light to everyone around him. He loved all his family and friends very much including his dog Buddy. In his leisure, Clarence was a man of simple pleasures. He enjoyed cutting the grass, playing the lottery, and was often found “shooting the bull” at the Kitchen. 

Clarence is survived by his daughter Rhonda Abercrombie, son Scott Abercrombie, grandsons Jeremy(Brittani) and Daniel (Crystal) Abercrombie, and great grandchildren Carson, Wyatt, and Josslin Abercrombie.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce “Faye” Abercrombie, parents Joseph and Dovie Abercrombie, and siblings Purvis Abercrombie, Cleatus Jackson, Susie Edwards, and Joe Abercrombie. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday July 23, 2023 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Dahlonega Funeral Home, 20 Gibson Road, Dahlonega Georgia,30533. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm.
